Alan - I am so glad you responded to that anti-semitic poster, since
your reponse was far more logical and educated about all he history of
the Israeli-Palestinian problem, than mine perhaps might have been.
Let me quote a rather crude saying which made the rounds in
Hitler-Germany (just before we left), and that was:
"You scratch a "Goy", and you find a Jew-Hater." I apologize for the
crudeness of that to all non-jewish posters; but it reflected (in a
gross sense) the air of futility which spread among the German/Jewish
population, as Hitler took over, and, although crude and pretty nasty,
and not true, nevertheless, often - as, again, here and now - it raises
its ugly head. It is depressing.
