Based on what you post, and what others have written, it sounds like a news server problem. But before you go calling your server's administrator, check your settings, both for your network, and for your server, as well as those on Agent itself. If those are correct, then call your network administrator. Your ISP's news server may be down.

That happens with me, especially in a storm, which are coming through parts of the country now. I didn't do a WHOIS, so I don't know where you are, or who your ISP is. Since you can connect through Google, it is likely that your ISP's news server, or whatever news server you generally use is down. A call to them would verify that.


I would also like to point out the possibility that the ISP telephone people sometimes don't even KNOW their news server is down.

My own ISP (road runner) which is supposed to be a pretty good quality service, occasionally has actually LIED to me and told me it was my problem, when actually it was their news server that was out.
