When did Iraq attack us ?
I must have missed it.

Wasn't the real goal supposed to be a gang in Afghanistan ?

Wasn't the Iraq invasion planned long in advance and for very different
reasons than the punishment of our attackers ?

And how is our interference in a religious/ civil war going to make
us any safer here ? We're making them more and more angry.

There are a lot of Muslims in the world, and a lot of them have been
hating the West since the Crusades. If they get more experience and
hang on to some of the oil money, they stand a good chance of
defeating the arrogant new comers who have enjoyed some victories
in recent centuries.

We stand as much chance of 'stabilizing' the area there as we do of
establishing a colony on the sun.
