I was wondering how many of us keep in touch with people
we knew "way back when"....
For instance, I exchange Email with classmates I had back
in high school and have been doing so since www.switchboard.com,
and a few others , gave me the ability to locate them.
I would send a snailmail "contact" letter, asking if they wanted
to "touch base", and sending my email address.... Sometimes
it works, sometimes it doesn't work ---- it was easier to contact
guys than girls since all of the girls have had a name change. But
I would send a snailmail to their mom and dad, and ask them to
forward it....
Most of the guys lost the ability to write after graduation. Lots
of the girls wanted to touch base..... Most were those I never knew
well in high school, but, in retrospect, I would have liked to have
known bettter. One or two were girls I dated, --- but only one or
two...( I hope that doesn't signify anything :>))) )
Anyway, after a decade of doing this, I have several Email
correspondents that exchange notes with me a couple times a
year, along with pictures of their families and maybe a short
narration of adventures, vacations, new offspring, -- stuff ---
that have happened in the last few months.....
I find it very interesting, and rewarding, and marvel at the
narrow minded focus I had back in high school that didn't allow
me to know such interesting people back then. But, heck, I
have probly gotten a lot more interesting myself than the
hormone-induced agenda from 50 years ago (grin)....
Anyway, do any of the posters/readers here still communicate
with their old high school/college classmates ? Why not
post a note or two about it here ?

Me - me.
I keep in touch with about a dozen.
Some by phone, some by letters, a few by e-mail, and best of all
a couple are new enough to have lunch with from time to time.
It's so nice to be able to talk to someone who shares many of the
same memories......................funny and embarrassing.
