For the most part I agree with the Retired Marine's written statements;
in particular I agree with his statements regarding the character of
the sorry asses we have, on both sides, now running our country.
But, I just cannot any longer show any personal support of this
so-called war in Iraq. I tried my best to support Bush and tried to
understand why we were expending the lives of our young, intelligent,
loyal, warriors over in that sand pit. I was able to do that up until
the time we pulled Saddam Hussein out of his rathole. That is when we
should have executed him and quickly began our departure from that
hellish land.
Now, I've heard no one satisfactorily explain just what in hell we're
doing in remaining over there. I don't think anyone knows what
"WINNING" there really means. Our purposes are only vaguely defined.
We could be there for many decades. If our purpose is a "peaceful"
and "placid" MIddle-East, then we are on a fool's errand and we should
know better.
In my personal opinion, our current real WAR is right here within the
boundaries of our own homeland and back here is where we now need our
military to be present with all their force. If we do not, or cannot,
take control of our borders and take control away from the
international corporations now running this country, then we will soon
be a "non-nation". We will become a balkanized mess of commercialized
crapola governed by anonymous entities and the corrupt United Nations
Org...........
We sure need another Teddy Roosevelt or maybe even another Harry Truman
!!!

from anywhere as real immigrants and they have to want to be Americans,
repeat Americans.
I agree, Jim. But, the immediate problem is twofold;
1. What in hell do we do with the 30 million illegals, Hispanic,
Islamists, Orientals, and Other, that we have in our country now? We
don't have any viable alternative to somehow trying to make loyal
citizens of them; won't be easy but we must be VERY firm. Make them
learn English. Make them serve time in our military. Make them report
FREQUENTLY to authorities. Force them to have health insurance. Force
them to work. DO NOT allow them to vote until such time as they've been
here for 25 years. Let the word go out around the world - the United
States is NOT a pleasant place for new immigrants; legal or illegal or
whatever. We do not need more people. What we need is more people
working; manufacturing goods, cleaning up our environment, staffing our
healthcare facilities........
2. How can we CLOSE, repeat CLOSE, our borders until such time as we can
strictly CONTROL them? This is the easy one of the two; we have the
technology, we have the manpower, we have the money. All we need is
someone in power with enough grit, and sense, to ENFORCE a strict
control.
Unless greedy employers are nailed to the wall for employing illegal
aliens for *any* reason it will be pointless. Congress and the Presidency
are wholly owned subsidiaries of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (cheap labor
at the cheapest possible wage in any way possible).
You are entirely correct ! But, I would disagree with the label "U.S.
Chamber of Commerce".
International Corporations and their lobbyiests, who owe not allegiance to
the U.S. of A., are the owners of our Congress, our Executive, and our
Judicial. Our "leaders" do what they are told to do. The average, legal,
worker no longer counts. Our votes are bought with $hundreds of millions
fed to the media to insure that the only candidates that can win are those
that will allow themselves to be prostituted. The Democrat and Republican
parties exist to keep us under the illusion that we have a choice. I am
no longer fooled by that charade.
Although our living standards are, currently, very high, we are living in a
time of disaster for our country.
