Yep, but step-maw came with me (she still goes every Sunday) while
step-paw took off fishing.
But did I dare ask why I hadda go when paw didnt?

There's one half of the family that are complete bible-belters.
They have even sent their kids to bible college, which serves only to
extent into another generation, religious brainwashing.
I don't care what people choose to believe in, BUT when our government
decides to impose it's religious faith-based idiocy (like Kansas and
GWB) on the public, or someone rings my door-bell and tells me what to
believe in..that pisses me off.

Once, I'm in the garage, under the hood of my car with tools in hand,
and two Mormons or Adventists or whatever walk up......... "I hope
we're not disturbing you, but the Bible saz: 'Yadda Yadda Yadda'"

No. You're not disturbing me, I always spent my spare time in here
waiting for you bible thumpers to interrupt me

GEEZ!!!

I have had two sets of Jehovah's Witnesses come to my door
in the last year. I live in a nice climate and my door is
usually open (screendoor locked however) so I saw them
approach. They were pleasant young people and wanted to give
me a handout. I just smiled at them and said, No thank you
and that was that. One of them made a nice comment on my
adult trike which was on the sidewalk outside my door:)

I think it is a mistake to engage them in any more conversation
than that. If you say no thank you and shut the door they will
go away.

Frankly, I feel sorry for them caught up in a religion that
requires them to go from door to door. A smile doesn't hurt.

There was a JW young woman in my company's typing pool. I relied on
her totally to do my work right. She never brought her religion to
work. However, she did get upset when the VP in charge made a
donation to the United Way campaign in her name. He wanted 100%
employee participation to look good. And the JW's did not
support this. I thought she was wronged and didn't blame
her for being upset.
