Well, if a person gets mad if someone calls them " You Dirty N-
word " ,
it probly doesn't make any difference whether the word "***" was
used or not...... Perhaps we should call them "Norwegians". That
would
clean up a lot of racially-oriented jokes, as in:
" These two Norwegians were eating a watermellon they
stole...... etc"

(Norwegians aren't a race, you see )

As to the beeping of "bad" words.... well, listening to the comedy
channel
on DISHNETWORK , the black comedians use "***", "ho" , and "bitch"
all
the time and they aren't beeped..... However , if Craig Ferguson says
"***", or
"***", it is always beeped. Go figure.....

Often guests on the nightime talk shows have used "***" and it
has always
been beeped....

I don't object to the beeping. I don't object to the words, but
that's just
me. No way will I get emotionally involved by some silly sound a
person makes.

HOWEVER, if the beep is to be effective, it should be applied
differently.
As it is, when a word is beeped, as in "MOTHER-BEEP", the words comes
thru as clearly as if there had been no beep..... I would suggest that
the
entire sentence containing the beep be eliminated..... That would
seriously
cripple comedy routines, as well as creatively handicap interviews
with
guests who used dirty language....

In addition, perhaps a disclaimer should be put BEFORE the
routine is
aired which will allow those who would take offense to change
channels.
Something like " In this upcoming interview, Rosie O'donald uses 6 "f-
words"
and says the "n-word" 3 times, so be advised before viewing..."
Of course, that ain't gonna happen........

To that end, I, personally, would let everyone say anything they
want to
say, as often as they want to say it, and let the viewers decide for
themselves
whether they will buy any product from the program's advertisers....
As
hosts, and guests, get the reputation for using offensive language,
either their
careers will plummet, or they will skyrocket....... I, personally, am
curious
in seeing how it would turn out.... We can always pass laws against it
later.....

Oh, and I think full frontal nudity and public executions should
be allowed
also...... But that's just me.....

Disney is doing pretty well, and so is Bill Cosby and Jeff
Foxworthy.
The comedians with the dirty mouths should follow their examples...
