There is nothing easier, better, cleaner, than the new electric ceramic/glass topped stove for family cooking. We had one now for 5 years. Love it.I've used electric stoves for years. In fact, I think the last time I used a gas one was when I was a teen-ager. I have had a glass stove top for 6 years now and I think it is great. I haven't scratched or dinged it yet. The great thing about it is ease of cleaning. I am always in a hurry and with a regular stove I hated having to clean up the messes I made letting things boil over. With the glass top I just spray on some cleaner, wait a bit and wipe it off. No lifting up the top to clean under the burners and trying to clean burned on food from the burner pans.
There's just NOTHING to not like about them.

Is your top glass or ceramic ?
My son is about to by a seamless top range and is clueless about the
differences.
Can't help him, cause I stuck with the exposed coils.

I'm pretty sure mine is glass. It's black. Two of my sisters have had the white ceramic ones and both of them had more trouble cleaning those than I do with mine. You do need a special cleaner but you just squirt it on and wipe. If you have really burnt something on it takes a bit of elbow grease but even with my arthritis I'm able to get it clean.

I had both over the years. The black is better. But my stainless steel cleans the easiest and you don't need anything special to clean it with.
