Seems three of us have posted about this story. Yours is the entire

It will strike fear in the hearts of many with long term care
insurance. The article does identify the companies with the poorest
records of paying claims and the company with the best.

So well worth reading for anyone with this kind of insurance.

I meant to post this to soc.retirement, but it is equally of interest
to soc.senior.issues.

The NY Times reports that some long term care insurance companies
refuse to pay benefits to sick and infirm seniors and those who have
paid for this insurance for many years have their claims turned down
when their health deteriorates to the point they need the care.

It is not a pretty picture.
