Temps reached 65 F today and little bits of green are beginning to show
in the tulip beds.

Birds have begun fighting over the little houses in the Maple trees.

It's so great to be able to open the windows on these first mild, sunny
days after the long winter.

So glad I no longer live in a big city.

What's spring like where you are ?

Here in the Catskill mountains spring is just a promise yet. Snows are beginning to melt, and we still could get a nasty snowstorm yet.... but I have a feeling that in no time the forsythias will be blooming and the crocuses will be popping up.

The daffodils come up in huge bunches of brilliant surprising color here. I can hardly wait for the show to begin.

I really and truly enjoy spring around here. There is a stream that runs through my yard. It is still rimmed with ice, but soon there will be baby fish hiding in the aquatic weeds.

Living in the forest one is continually amused by the play of nature. It couldn't be better.

Evelyn

In SW Michigan birds have been tweeting for several days now and geese have been seen and heard heading North. Michigan winters have really lost their appeal and we are really going to try moving out to Oregon (Beaverton, SW of Portland) to be with daughter #1 and her family. Nice country there-spent 9 days over Christmas there.

I'm not far from SW Michigan, and have to agree that winters are not what
they used to be when heavy snow meant a day or two off school.
My buddy up in Leelanau gets some really serious snow compared to our
'dry' side of the lake.
