For Joan F
FYI...Worms, Trojans and Viruses can DO whatever they are programmed to
do. The current worm threat is supposedly designed to erase all files,
but no one actually knows what it will do until it is loaded on your
drive.
I've had the bad luck of experiencing two viruses (early on in my
learning curve) one of which only attacked my preference file (Changed
my opening page with every log on, I could change it back manually, but
it would change it again with the next logon) The second virus
destroyed my hard drive.
Sosphisticated servers such as those used by Time Warner (Road Runner)
would not hoard or build up a logjam of messages and then release them
at once unless they contained data considered harmful or data that
could not pass through their spam blocker.
If it's not an attack, the more reasonable assumption would be that
some change has been made in her firewall or antispam protection. Some
servers will not permit hotmail emails for instance, because of the
anti spam software used . If I had hotmail as a mail server for a year
and suddenly changed, those blocked messages might come through.
Not trying to argue, just trying to say I'm not stupid as you implyed.
