We were attacked in Pearl Harbor & it was appropiate to fight back.
Against the Japanese, yes. What about the Germans and the Italians? They didn't attack us.
Were Germans NOT sinking our ships ?
If any, it was those who were outing German subs to the Brits.
Were the Italians NOT their allies ?
Did they attack us?
When Germany declared war upon us, one has to assume that their allies had similar statue.
There was chaos in Kosovo,Haiti & Mogodosho. We stopped
the bloodshed., & tried to bring order
Are we the world police?
Only where there is a powerful economic advantage or where we stand to gain positive press around the world for being humanitarians.
That's one viewpoint.
Europe may have
reservations about US but countries act in their own interests. They have made some profitable trade deals with Iraq & they need her oil. We have the same self interests What we needed was patience in dealing with the powers pointing out the advantages of a united front.
They were, I'm sure, very well aware of the advantages of a united front. Unfortunately, those advantages did not outweigh the advantages of the sweet deals they were getting from Saddam.
They simply did not see enough reason to invade.
Not while they were making Billions on under the table deals.
Is that published information ?
They didn't choose to manipulate information until it looked like we had to
do something drastic.
Provide ANY proof that information was manipulated.
We were told flat out that Saddam HAD wmd and could use them on us at any time, when in fact many in the intelligence community KNEW that was not the case and told their boss that.
And They were right.
The pursued their interests.
Instead Bush handled European
powers badly & suceeded in not having support in the Iraqi invasion.
"Handled the European powers badly" by doing what he felt he had to do in spite of European preference for their sweet deals with Saddam and the healthy kickbacks they were getting.
Why did he "feel" he had to do it ?
Ample, more than ample, information is available on that. I see not reason to try to explain the obvious to the oblivious.
Obvious ?
He got the exact information he told his minions to deliver so that the invasion
could proceed.
Is a feeling enough to justify what's happening there now ?
Play with words.
You did it first.
Condi Rice is now trying to rectify the
situation & bring back our allies---not too successfully.
You don't send your sister to mollify the neighbors after you've tipped over their outhouse.
OK
What he did was wrong and the world knows it.
Road apples.
History will judge.
Hard to keep secrets these days. Except from the American people, with the cooperation of the media.
Yeah, right. It's all those grassy knolls.
Bush chopped down the money tree. They're mad at us.
cheers
bob
You paint an interesting picture Bob.
And, an accurate one.
In your dreams only.
Too bad you can only see your subject from a single perspective.
I'm sorry that I am unable to abandon truth and buy into your conspiracy theories and DNC talking points.
bob
My views have nothing to do with partisan politics and i have not hinted at conspiracy. The deception was right out in the open. You cannot abandon the truth until you have accepted it. .
