Gingrich would doubtless reveal himself to be a jerk
in the course of the debate, since I've never seen him
fail to do that. He simply has no moral backbone at
all. Everything is expediency, and the more one
watches him the more one sees that.
As Congressman and leader in the later 1990s he was a political
failure. Why he appears attractive to some amazes me.
He was no failure. He delivered the House of Representatives to the
Republicans for the first time in about 40 years. We might argue as
to whether that was good or bad. But he did accomplish it.
He's the only person running -- with the ability to get this country
out of this economic Recession. In times like this, I don't care
if he has five wives.
Could you elaborate on why you feel Gingrich would be able to help the
country on any specific issue? What policy does he espouse that you
support and how do you think that he would implement it? I don't think
that you have thought this through any more than you did for Palin.
I think Gingrich would know how to put his programs through Congress.
Whatever they are. Unlike Obama. We need a leader. Obama is no
more a leader than he is a WASP. In the middle of the Great
Recession -- we leadership. Not a traveling road show.
care? What policies do you think that he would support?
I don't know what he supports. I do know what ever he does will be
an improvement over what Obama has (not) done.
If you don't
agree with his policies, are you sure that you want him to ram them
through Congress? History has plenty of examples of leaders who took
their nations to ruin.
We have one now who is heading fast in that direction.
Any substance in your thinking this time, Gary?
I'm usually as partisan as the next guy. But in national
emergencies, I think we must all lay politics aside and back a person
who we think can help the country as a whole.
After 3 years, we know what we have now is an incompetent loser.
So let us choose one of the alternatives. Newt is not the prettiest,
nor the most likeable. But I think he offers the most hope.
