I am not anti-science or anti-evolution...but I can observe clearly
the "very things" you guys accuse religion of...are being practiced
daily within your own holy books.

You totally missed the point of the article you posted. These are
not respected scientists who say tobacco is not harmful, etc. They
are paid by the various industries involved -- one way or another.
Not all members of all professions are honest -- some are out for
whatever payoff they can get. No one here has ever argued
otherwise. What you should look for, do they publish in peer-
reviewed journals. Do they have good reputations among the
leading names in their field? Doesn't mean they all necessarily
agree, but it does point to them to being honest in their research.

There is no holy book in science -- it is always up for revision and
addition. That is how it differs from religion. People offer
hypotheses and others test them. Sometimes add to them.

There are many "open" topics in science -- how many in religion?
Sciientsits don't pretend to have the final word -- they know full
well their findings are always open to new data.

The only religion that isn't that way is Buddhism. When the Dalai
Lama was asked what would happen if science proved Buddhism to be
wrong, he replied "Then Buddhism will have to change"

Evelyn, thank you for your even minded post.
The sci stuff now most have to do with "Global
Warming" aka "Climate Change". I do not know
who is correct, but I do know that both sides are
spouting total bullshit. If you or others would like
to learn about what the atmosphere can do.
I would like to help, having worked with that for years
I do not know an answer, but I do know this is not simple
physics, but complex physics, chemistry, and thermodynamics.
The "thremo" stuff is ugly because it means you cannot
measure the same thing twice.
Can I be of some help?

Will, the best way to help is when the subject comes up here, post
something that you know scientifically to be accurate. I will read
it.

Global warming. I think it is important. I have evidence that
