<snip>
There is something inherently wrong with the thought processes of a person
who loses all sense of humanity when someone suffers a bit of bad luck who
just happens to have a different political opinion than they do.
I don't care who the person is, if they are sick or have something bad
happen to them, I offer them compassion, not hatred, and I mean it. We are
all subject to having things like this happen to us in life.
My politics and my humanity just are not that intertwined. I believe in
kindness to others, even if they don't agree with me.
I agree that their suffering should be alleviated if possible, but
it's too bad there isn't another planet in the same orbit as earth's
sixty degrees away, like the Greek and Trojan asteroids that
are clumped in those aspects leading and following Jupiter.
Then we could send Sordo and Jim and El Castor and their
fellow travelers to it, or we could leave them here and move to
that planet ourselves if it was as big as Earth. Then they
wouldn't have to deal with anybody except each other and we
wouldn't have them here influencing our society either. Jim's
blood pressure would go down and everybody would be
happier.
Jim's blood pressure will not go down until he learns that he doesn't rule the universe and nobody cares much how apoplectic he gets when we don't agree with him.
