You're entitled to your opinions/superstitions, but keep them
the hell away from my rights as a full human being in society.
If you don't, and you just said you don't, then I have
nothing but contempt for your religion, as nothing better than
a tool of bigotry and perpetual ignorance.

You may not "believe" other people's equality away yet
deserve the respect of future ages.

Your skin is exceedingly thin today. I didn't read anything in his
comments
to warrant the degree of rancor that your response reflected. The
contents
of his religion are his problems and should have been no more a matter
of
your concern than the details of your agnosticism. Why is it any skin
off
your nose that he might view you however he happens to do so?
He showed a tolerance for any homosexual relationships in which you
might
be
engaged that didn't hardly merit your knee jerk attack on him in
response.

Lighten up.....nobody likes to get their ass kicked for inadvertent and
unintentional slights. Keep it up and you may just lose whatever
friends
you have in this NG.

I wasn't being rancorous.

I'm telling you that you were. Do the words, "spin, spin, spin, deny,
deny,
deny" sound familiar? That's exactly what you're doing..... You were
clearly out of order and rancorous and I (and many others) don't really
give
much of a *** what your views of anybody's religions are when you try to
use them to justify your deplorable behavior.

Ever hear of the words "I'm sorry"? You might consider using them to help
you repair some of the damage that you've done to yourself. Try not to
make
any more of a jackass of yourself than you already have.

No charge for the advice, which you'll undoubtedly ignore. Try to keep in
mind that there's a good reason most people don't keep porcupines as
housepets.

I've re read the original post Hal and it is somewhat ambiguous. One
can take it to mean that the poster does not believe that same sex
couples should have the LEGAL right to MARRY but should have all the
rights. I can see that it would rile Rumple.
Thumper

I guess that I didn't read it that way, Jay, which is why I couldn't
understand why he got his clinkers into such an uproar over it.

Hal

I read it a couple of times before I made up my mind as you but it was
rather clumsy and could be taken either way.
