He certainly has given me hope that all is not lost in this country. I
have a friend who seriously contemplated moving to another country if
Obama
lost. For her, it is all about health care, but of course there are
many
other considerations. I am glad she decided to stay, but health care
doesn't seem to be on the front burner these days..... and not through
any
fault of Obama's, but through the overwhelming mess he inherited from the
Repugnicans.
Health care will be on the agenda by fall -- possibly not all changes
will be tackled at once but Congress is preparing for it. And now
that Specter has moved to the Democrats and hopefully Al Franken will
be installed as a Senator by then there is every chance it will
succeed.
It is very different now than when the Clinton administration tried
it. There is now support from the medical profession and even from
some insurance companies.
I guess we have the medical insurance companies to
thank for the doctors coming around. Those companies
have drastically cut into the fantastic salaries doctors
were accustomed to making, and have also turned the
doctoring profession into a living hell of paperwork and
mindless intransigence. Getting rid of the parasitical
medical insurance industry should IMV now be the
highest priority for consumers and medicos alike.
I would love to see them totally out of business. They are the very worst
parasites. They often routinely deny payment of approved procedures making
the person prove everything before they finally cave in and pay. You have
to behave defensively with them in every situation. You never know if they
are going to live up to their end of the deal or not. Did you see Michael
Moore's "Sicko"?

No, I haven't seen "Sicko". I don't go to movies much nor
do most people I know, except for one friend who usually
goes to movies alone. I don't like going to movies alone. I
would still like to see it.
