Taken from another site. This is a description of the Bush
administration's "legacy". Imho, every sensible person, Democrat or
Repub, should be thinking about the question in the last line of this
piece.
Elaine
Bush's Legacy:
___________
• They have squandered the surplus
• They have left the next generation with the largest deficits in
human history with nation on the verge of default
• They have alienated our friends and allies and tarnished America’s
image across the world
• They have ignored climate change and tried to convince us it is not
happening
• They have totally mismanaged the Afghan war
• They got us into another 2nd war in Iraq under false pretenses and
have grossly mismanaged that one as well
• They opposed pay raises for combat troops, and failed to provide
adequate body and vehicle armor or adequate medical and psychological
care.
• We don’t have Bin Laden, we don’t have Zawahiri, we don’t have
Mullah Omar
• Our borders are not secure, our ports are not secure, and all this 7
years after 9-11
• They took our constitution which a document that should be revered,
and considered it an obstacle while they trashed it in the name of
national security
• The rich have gotten richer while the middle class is rapidly
disappearing
• They have presided over the largest “redistribution of wealth” in
history from the lower and middle classes to the rich
• They deregulated our banks and investment houses enabling the
criminal activities that now have our economy and nation ready to go
over a cliff
• The Justice Dept, Security Exchange Commission, and Treasury Dept
all turned their heads while the criminals in pin striped suits turned
Wall Street into a casino
• They provided huge tax breaks for wealthy and for those who ship
jobs overseas
• We have lost millions of jobs, while executive annual salaries soar
to the equivalent of winning the lottery every single year
• They have presided over the largest plunder of wealth and used $
trillions of taxpayer money to “rescue” the economy, while giving this
money to the very same people who got us into this economic mess in
the first place and then insist on giving themselves bonuses
• They fought tooth and nail to not include language about limiting
the multi $ million CEO bonuses and golden parachutes in this
“rescue”.

You're right - leaving out Katrina was a serious mistake. The
Schiavo case was notable, too. A list that tries to mention every
important point just keeps growing, doesn't it.
Then there's the stuff we don't know about, like what happened to the
plane loads of money that went to Iraq, for instance, and what exactly
went on behind the scenes with Bush and his oil Nazis, anyway?
Some people are laughing, but to me it's just plain contemptible
thatRepubs are scurrying around, churning up lies about an
administration that has been in place for 50 days, and trying to
convince somebody, anybody, that they weren't the worst government
we've ever had, as if the only thing that matters is their feelings,
their prosperity, and their historical report card.
