Mainstream sources do far less of that, if at all, even FOX, frequently referred to a FAUX News.

What American people? Wanna try that again, Sheila, and
substitute "Republicans" for "the American people." That
we already knew and it is why your side lost the election.
Gallup Poll - U.S. News
Obama Has Upper Hand in Stimulus Fight
February 9, 2009
President Obama receives a 67% approval rating for his handling of the
government’s efforts to pass an economic stimulus bill, compared to
31% for the Republicans in Congress. A majority of Americans (51%)
agree that passing such a bill is critically important to improving
the nation’s economy.
Confidence in Obama Remains High After Cabinet Troubles
February 6, 2009
This week's troubles for Barack Obama’s Cabinet nominees have done
little to dampen public confidence in the president. Sixty-five
percent of Americans say they approve of the job he is doing, and 58%
say controversies like the one surrounding Tom Daschle are “normal”
when filling government positions.
Daily Presidential Approval Index
Tuesday, February 10, 2009
Email a Friend Email to a Friend
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Approval Index for Tuesday shows that 39% of the nation’s voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Twenty-four percent (24%) Strongly Disapprove to give Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of +15 (see trends).
Data for this update is collected via nightly telephone interviews and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. The overwhelming majority of interviews for today’s update were conducted before the President’s prime-time television press conference last night.
The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Overall, 60% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance so far while 38% disapprove. For more data, see Obama By the Numbers and review recent demographic highlights.
Congress is not seen in as good a light as the President. There is a strong bi-partisan belief that Members of Congress use their position to help political friends and hurt their opponents. Voters also believe it is concern about what Congress can do that motivates most campaign donors. However, voters also believe that donors typically get more than their money’s worth back in the form of favors from elected politicians.
The economy remains the top issue for 51% of voters nationwide. Seventeen percent (17%) cite national security issues as the highest priority while 12% see fiscal issues such as government taxes and spending as most important. The economy is ranked number one by Republicans, Democrats, and unaffiliated voters. Republicans and Democrats both rank national security second. However, among unaffiliated voters, concerns and fiscal issues are seen as the top priority by 20%.
Consumer and investor confidence remains near all-time lows but one bright spot can be found in new data on the housing market. Seventy-three percent (73%) of Americans now say that buying a home is the best investment a family can make. That’s up from 63% in December.
(More Below)
While the President continues to enjoy generally positive ratings, new survey data shows that the country is evenly divided over his assertion that failure to act on the stimulus package will lead to an economic catastrophe.

62% Want Stimulus Plan to Have More Tax Cuts, Less Spending
Monday, February 09, 2009
With the Senate poised to vote Tuesday on an $827-billion version of the economic recovery plan, 62% of U.S. voters want the plan to include more tax cuts and less government spending.
Just 14% would like to move in the opposite direction with more government spending and fewer tax cuts, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Twenty percent (20%) would be happy to pass it pretty much as is, and five percent (5%) are not sure.
Republicans and unaffiliated voters overwhelmingly want to see more tax cuts and less government spending. Democrats are more evenly divided: 42% agree with the Republicans, 32% want to pass the plan as is, and 22% would like to see more government spending and fewer tax cuts.
Most conservative and moderate voters want to see more tax cuts. A plurality of liberals say the plan should be passed pretty much as it is.

An analysis by Scott Rasmussen notes that the stimulus debate is now driven by a tug-of-war between the popularity of President Obama and the nation’s deeply ingrained reluctance to increase government spending. Forty-eight percent (48%) of voters believe that increased spending is generally bad for the economy. On the other hand, 57% say tax cuts are generally good for the economy.
Overall, 37% of voters favor the stimulus plan and 43% are opposed. Most of those who are undecided have a favorable opinion of the new president and are likely to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Some congressional Democrats are clearly nervous about the negative reaction many voters are having to the plan, but Obama assured them at a weekend retreat in Williamsburg, Va., that he will go all out to publicly campaign for it. Republicans argue that the 700-page-plus plan is loaded with excessive spending, much of which does not directly address the country's economic needs. The Senate version which reduced government spending and added more tax cuts will have to be reconciled with the $819-billion version that passed the House, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi already has vowed to restore many of the spending cuts.
The president has said that inaction on the rescue plan will lead to catastrophe. Voters are evenly divided on that point: 44% agree with him and 41% do not. However, he is holding a prime-time press conference tonight and going on a campaign-style trip this week to build support for the stimulus package. While he continues to enjoy solid job approval ratings, Obama's numbers have slipped in recent days.
The latest Rasmussen Reports poll - showing that 62% want more tax cuts and less government spending - is similar to a CBS News poll taken last week. That poll found that 62% said that reducing taxes will do more than increased spending to end the recession.

Arguing with a liberal is like arguing with a dog. They don't
understand a damn word you say and just want to sniff each other's
asses and shit on your sidewalk. I am down to a couple posts a day
and don't read more then a couple of their comments. The original
news posts are interesting for alternative points of view. Rasmussen is one of the better polls.
I've been posting less and less.
Oh, I read you. Don't slow down on my account. I am just not wasting
time I can use elsewhere. I've been insulted by much better people
then folks I skip here. lol
Deep inside this 'stimulus bill' is 'health reform' that is going to be devastating for our country. That only came out a couple days ago.
Yes. And they don't care. To them, this is a ball game where their
side wins and everyone else loses. There is no middle ground or
concern that President Obama is leading a real revolution in our
economic and social foundations.
Be sure to arm yourself and take time to be very proficient with
anything you own. We will see police and other organs we depend on to
maintain safety and security unable to do their job. You won't
believe what is going on at Justice Department and I see an
organization that is predominently black and militant. You and I are
the enemy in our own nation.
It truly is scary what is happening and much faster than I even thought. Obama is signing executive orders left and right that are really going to hurt. People will realize what has happened to them when it is too late to do anything about it. It is hard to believe this is happening in this country. I surely am glad that I have lived when I did, I really feel sorry for our grandkids, they don't even realize what is coming.
The republicans have been completely shut out in the negotiation of the stimulus bill between the house and senate now.
You should put your brain in gear before engaging your mouse, Sheila. Maybe then you wouldn't make such a fool of yourself.
Think where she gets her news from...... and it explains it well.
It is where you get your news and your gullibility that is the problem.
At least, Sheila, Evelyn knew the composition of the conference committee, a fact which obviously escaped you. Yet you had no problem displaying your ignorance when it suited your ideology.
I get my news from mainstream sources, not right wing idealogues whose knowledge is suspect and scanty.
That you get your news from mainstream sources is the problem. You need to listen to what the other side says too.
Your problem, Sheila, is that you have absolutely no comprehension of the distinction between ideology and plain vanilla news. Which is why Evelyn is right on this issue, and you, as usual, are wrong.
