there are res]adons to believe that we do not have a strategy for

but we threw it away by ignoring afghanistan and taking on iraq.
Ambush Raises Unsettling Questions in Afghanistan
By KIRK SEMPLE
KABUL, Afghanistan -- It was one of the most humiliating attacks
the
Afghan security forces had ever suffered. On Nov. 27, Taliban
insurgents ambushed a supply convoy in the northwest province of
Badghis,
killing nine Afghan soldiers and five police officers, wounding 27
men,
capturing 20 others, destroying at least 19 vehicles and stealing
five,
Afghan officials said.
Which response by Jerry yet once again begs the question of what he
means by "success." Vis a vis Iraq, he defined "success" to be -
quote - "Okay, my definition of success in Iraq, is when that country
is able to defend their fledging demcoracy /sic/ without any outside
help. " When pressed for criteria against which such "success" can be
determined ("Does your definition of success require that the defense
capability be actually proven/tried? Or is it simply a nominal one;
that is, where someone just says/proclaims/spins that the defense
capability exist?), Jerry replied : "I will make this real simple.
Whatever I think is the definisiton /sic/ of success in the end does
not matter because there is nothing I can do to insure that Iraq is
successful."
So here yet again is Jerry raising the question of "success" - and yet
again without defining what he means by "success" this time around.
The question I raise is - if Jerry thinks that what he thinks is the
definition of "success" does not matter, why in the world is he
raising this question of "success" in the first place?
Afghanistan. Will you take the oppsite side to that bet, i,e. Obama
WILL abandon either Iraq or Aftgnaistan?
Exactly what you mean by "abandon?" Does the presence of even one
active duty military person is said country constitute no "abandonment?"
When we "abandoned" South Vietnam back in 1975, there was not one - not
a single solitary - serving US military person left in that country. Is
this what you mean by "abandon?" Define your terms, Jerry!
And if indeed your definition does not - as you've said - matter, then
why in the world raise the question/issue in the first place?
Note well that you here very cleverly avoided defining what you mean by
"success" in Afghanistan. At least, in your words "Here is my bet. I
say that Obama WILL NOT abandone /sic/ either Iraq or Afghanistan. Will
you take the oppsite /sic/ side to that bet, i,e. /sic/ Obama WILL
abandon either Iraq or Aftgnaistan /sic/? " there is no such definition.
clarify the terms of your wager vis a vis your definition of "abandon" -
you disappear. Now just why is that? You perhaps - just maybe - having
some second thoughts?
"abandon" such that I can determine whether or not your proposed wager is
worth accepting? Why the pronounced reluctance and feet dragging in
providing us with that definition? You having second thoughts about your
proposed wager?
