I gave you as detailed explanation of the problem as I could. What did you do in response, your trademark one liners which solves nothing.
explain the bail out of the wall street criminals without any oversight and
without any demand for reduction in wages and bonuses
I was not in favor of the bailout, so I have nothing to explain.
explain the $1 trillion thrown down the sewer in iraq and the bottom line
is shoes thrown at the chimp
It will not be money thrown down the sewer, "if" we are successful in helping Iraq become a successful democracy is the right answer. On the other hand, all that money democrats like to throw at the public education system is like throwing money down the proverbial "sewer" because inspite of all that money, our public school system is failing way to many students.
explain tax cuts given to those who don't need or deserve them
Simple. Everyone should pay the same amount in taxes, based on what they earn. It is simply unfair to tax one group of people, more than another group of people. It is also highly discrimanatory, when you tax one group of people much more than another group of people.
if everyone earned the same they would all be taxed the same,
Not possible
it's highly disciminatory :
that some people make more money alone than 100,000 other
people make together
Yes. It does not matter how much people make, it is how much they pay in taxes. To be totally fair, everyone should pay the same percentage of their income in taxes. It will all end with the same results, if you want the same results in any event. After all, this government "redistributes" income all the time. It is akin to taking money out of one pocket and putting some of it back into another pocket. You can tax everyone the same, and then "redistribute" the money so that you reward the poor more than the rich. It all ends up at the same point.
that some people have to die for their country and others don't
Well, yes. Even when we had a draft, there were some people who died for their country and others that did not. It is not possible to have EVERYONE who risk their lives in a war.
that some people die from cancer, automobile accidents,
fires, etc. and others don't
Relevance?
that some people go to prison for stealing a pund of hamburger and
others get away with stealing millions
Yes, because in this country you are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. And there is both a defense and an offense in every trial. And you are determined to be guilty or innocent by a jury of your peers. So, by defintiion, we have an imperfect system (I am not even sure it is possible to have a perfect system where only the guilty are punished). As for whether it is fair for someone who steals a pound of hamburger spending time in prison vs. someone who steals millions, if it is unfair, that blame solely falls on the shoulders of our politicians who made those laws. So, complain to your elected officials, don't complain to me, I can do nothing about it, even if I wanted to.
that the black man who breaks into a store and steals $100 sits in jail without bail, and that the white man who steals $50
BILLION goes home
That is the law. Laws are created by legislators. So, if you do not like it, complain to the people who made the laws, for all the good it will do you.
why do you want to be fair with taxes and unfair about other things
Examples please.
I gave them to you, but obviously you want to pick and choose what will be fair,
what's actually fair is this :
this is a democracy, if the people decide to elect politicians who will
tax the wealthy at a higher percentage then it is fair because the people decided it was,
I did not say that ulitmately the people decide by their vote did I? I asked what is "fair" when one group of people pay more than another group of people, and still anotehr group of people not only do not pay, but are given money, without paying a cent.
for the last 8 years we have had officials who decided it was more fair to tax the wealthy at lower
rates than everyone else, I haven't heard you complain about that,
Of course not. I believe that EVERYONE should pay the same percentage of their income, bacuase that is the defintion of what is fair.
also ,
is it fair for the taxpayers to rebuild all the infrastructure we destroyed in Iraq but not
the damage in new orleans ?
Yes, for the same reason this country spend a fortune rebuilding Japan and Germany after democrats "destroyed" their countries. And you are not being truthful when it comes to New Orleans, we have spent a good chunk of money in rebuilding New Orleans.
is it fair that tax dollars are used to murder 1 million innocent people, wound and injure millions more,
Yes, just like we spent a whole lot more rebuilding Japan and Germany.
destroy their homes and livelihoods and at the same time veto a bill to give medical care to American children ?
Yes. A whole lot less impact, then the sacrifces Americans made when our President decided to join the "allies" in WWII.
is it fair that 23% of the military is black, while they make up 13 % of the population,
and that you conservatives do everything you possibly can to discriminate against, and
disparage them, while you yourself were too much of a coward to do what they are willing to do ?
If your facts are correct, the answer is yes. It is an all vounteer military, which means people "choose" to join the military. You should understand that word, you folks on the left believe in "choice" when it comes to having an abortion, if you are consistent you would support a perons right to "choose" whether they want to join the military or not. Today's military is around 1.4 million. The population of this country is over 300 million. As for you last comment which you keep making, don't blame me for inventing the draft. Place the blame where it beling, and that are the people who designed the draft when I was of draft age. They were the ones that determined that certain job categoires were critical to the national defense, I did not make the determination. They were the ones who decided that my working in the defense industry as an egineer was more important to this country, then my serving in the military.
and since you weren't willing to risk anything, why do you think you should be entitled
to an opinion ?, that just isn't fair
Because fair is far. You ask for others to respond, when you post anyting on this newsgroup. When you or I post a comment, to what someone else has said, we should have the common decency to defend the position we have taken. Otherwise don't respond at all, because you are only stoking your ego, and contributing zero to the conversation.
you have nothing, but I'm sure you won't have the courage or integrity to admit it
I am willing to defend my positions, that is more courage than someone who is not willing to defend their positions.
