It is inconsistent, is my thoughts on this issue. In Illinois the talking heads are saying that the "people" in Illinois should decide who should take the place of Obama and in New York the talking heads seem to have no trouble with the Governor appointing Hilary's replacment. It seems to me totally inconsistent. If it is the right thing to do to have an election in Illinois to determine who replaces Obama, why is it okay not to do the same thing in New York?
Don't you remember when there was talk about how Palin would have to appoint someone for Stevens seat, when he was found guilty of wrongdoing?
If I am not mistaken it is usually the governor's job to appoint someone to a sudden vacant senate seat. UNLESS there was some doubt that the governor was doing something illegal, like trying to SELL that seat.
