i don't use it. the source has it. it replaces cabinets full of cds and
dvds.

with a laptop, you can drive a modern tv (dvi or hdmi inputs are on all
such), and use an air connection to your router on a non-wired system.
i used a laptop i once had, to drive my hdtv, to watch some stuif off the
research channel.

i have a good audio system in my computer area, and already drive it from
the  radio streams i get from operacast.com. right now i am listening to
connoisseur classics. i could rip the streams to the  hard drive and then
have selected items available at any computer in my house. i plan to
convert my living room audio system to take its material from a computer
wirelessly connected to the router because there is no ovew-the-air source
for me  in boulder any more.:-( i am awaiting arrival of the computer for
that later this month.

I've ripped all my CDs to my computer in MP3 format and I have two
computers in my entertainment room that are networked together. Both
computers have a second, large hard drive that I use for the MP3s,
etc.

One of the computers is connected directly to my widescreen TV and to
my stereo system. For the other one, I bought a wireless, Logitech, DJ
Music System. I got it on sale at a terrific price a few months ago,
but haven't installed it. The transmitter on the DJ Music System plugs
into a USB port on your computer and the wireless receiver plugs into
the back of your stereo. The DJ Music System also comes with a remote
control.

I don't use my music CDs anymore except in my CD player in the trunk
of my car sometimes and even that player plays MP3s. So, I sometime
simply burn MP3 CDs for that player.
