Who wants to abolish secret ballots?

obama

Do you have a cite for that?

http://www.forbes.com/opinions/2008/11/02/obama-mccain-unions-oped-cx...
Under current law, workers, to be represented, must vote in a secret
ballot. The EFCA would give unions another way to monopolize a
workplace: get a majority of workers to sign a card authorizing a
union to represent them. This would make it easier for unions to
organize workplaces because the unions could intimidate workers one by
one. The virtue of a secret ballot, on the other hand, is that it lets
workers vote the way they wish without fear of retribution.

i'll leave detailed spade work to you

So Obama doesn't want to abolish secret ballots after all, and the
chap who wrote the Forbes article is actually against secret ballots
for union recognition and, indeed, seems to be against union
recognition per se.

Interestingly, in the UK it was the Tories who long opposed secret
ballots as being 'un-English'.

The secret ballot thing is a straw man argument. The secret ballot
is supposed to protect the voter. If the majority of voters are
willing to vote by signing a card for everyone to see that says they
want a union, a secret ballot is not needed because the voters have
shown that they need no protection to vote.
