Anyway, I've been at it for a few years and really enjoy it.
Anyone else?

I used to about 4 decades ago. I did have a great experience a few
weeks ago, incidentally. I was going through some very old photographs
of my mother that date back to the late 30s. I found a couple, that
were badly damaged and very small, maybe about 1 1/2 x 3". Using an
old version of Adobe PhotoShop, I was able to repair them and enlarge
them to 8 x 10s and they look terrific. I don't know why these old
photographs enlarge so well, but they do.
It's really amazing what you can do with Photoshop, especially with the
yellowing that old photos often have. I also have enlarged old photos.
One of the things that I like about digital is the ability to have a
slideshow as a screen savor on my computer, also the photoframes have
gotten quite good.
I would strongly advise anyone who has priceless, old photographs
stuffed in an old photo album or shoe box to get them out and restore
them.
Good recommendation. I still haven't converted more that just a small
number of those that I have.

I wish I had more pictures of my mother. I have a few 1930s
"professional" pictures of my mother setting on some sort of a box
with what is obviously a sheet hung up behind her. When I get some
more time, I'm going to see if I can doctor up that sheet a little
bit. I also have a few pictures of my mother on my grandmother's lawn
that would be early 1940s taken with some sort of a Brownie, I guess.
I'm still totally amazed how well these old pictures enlarge.
I used to use the slide show function and then I had some minor
computer problems and forgot to restore it. Now that you mention it,
though, I'm going to go back to it and include my restored pictures.
Something else that's fun, by the way, is to take stills or video
clips of the TV screen using a digital camera. I have a few video
clips of ER, for example, that are absolutely hilarious. I've been
trying to get the perfect picture of my dog Sadie for a long time now.
She's a German Shepherd/Retriever mix. I thought if I could do that I
would have a painting done from the picture. Photographing dogs,
though, is extremely difficult, obviously.
