Okay, here is the Real Clear Politics data.
Obama 46.2, McCain 45.2
Does that make you happier?
Oh yeah, Real Clear Politics, they're a bunch of salad tossing,
cocksucking, empty-headed, piss-drinking liberal morons!
Hey, maybe Al E heads up that group, huh?
Do you have any proof that they are what you say they are, or are
you
not
telling the truth? Besides, all they are doing is using the data
that
professional polsters are reporting, and taking an average of that
data.
If he is protecting his family he is lying, but that is alright.
If he isn't protecting his family he is a liar. All according to
the
rules of Evelyn.
Wrong. Every situation is different. In the case of Clinton he
was
being
asked about his personal life which was his own business, and he
lied
to
protect his family. Have you seen the bumper sticker that says
"When
Clinton Lied, Nobody Died" ???
Wrong. Lying is lying, whether it is a small lie or a big lie it
does
not matter. A lie is a lie. Even the rock you worship calls for no
lying. How does a bumper sticker make it alright to lie? Don't
answer, it doesn't make it right.
Incorrect. Buddha gave an example of when it is alright to lie. I
wrote it down in in another post. Children in a burning house are
busily playing and refuse to come out when their father calls them.
Fearing for their safety their father tells them to come quickly he
has
lots of new toys and wonderful goodies for them. Thus if you lie to
save someone else it is OK.
lie
to save someone else it is OK." - no exceptions? How about lying to
attempt saving oneself - as, for instance, William Jefferson Clinton
pointing his finger to the American people and saying "I did not have
sex
with that woman" - or words to that effect?
You are a little behind the times. I did mention this before.
Clinton
lied to protect his wife, daughter, and also the young woman involved.
He lied many times about women. Juanita Broaddrick, Kathleen Wiley,
Eileen Wellstone, Sandra James, Paula Jones, Carolyn Moffett among
many others. Want to bet a pile of money you and others here would
have called it rape, sexual harassment and other sharp descriptions if
he had the little "R" after his name? Clinton lying was to protect
who???
To be honest, I am sick of discussing Clinton. The man was obviously a
serial womanizer. That didn't make him a bad president.
Evelyn, I think had Clinton admitted his dallying with Monica there
would have been a reaction but people would have gotten over it. Had
he been forthright at the time.
That was his biggest mistake -- to lie about it. I don't think the
affair or whatever it was disqualified him from remaining president
as history shows us he is hardly the first to play around while in
office.
I don't know why you feel the need to write post after post defending
him. You don't know the reasons he lied -- nor do I but he did.
And it was the lie, not the dalliance, that led to the impeachment
effort.
It doesn't change my view of his presidency -- he was head and
shoulders a far better president than Bush.
As we have seen with John Edwards, lying about sex is not the
best approach when you know very well someone has the goods on
you.
I understand full well that many of those who pilloried him
had their own sex affair skeletons in their closets.
The Republican party does not have a claim to purity or virtue.
But let's put this one to rest where it should have remained. It
has nothing at all to do with the choices now before voters.
It is a distraction and I don't think you were wise to buy in
to it.
Don't mean to offend you, but that is how I feel.
You are absolutely right that it is a distraction from the issues at hand.
If a person lies about something they will lie about anything.
Lying is lying and the person who lies is a liar.
... Evelyn
I said that and I stand by it. I hate liars myself. But I have also stated unequivocally that if someone is asked a question about personal relationships, they owe no one an answer but the people involved. There are some things that are private, and sexual relationships are at the top of that list.
