Hmmm, Muslims working in a Kosher meatpacking plant. One can only
wonder how that will work.

Halal meat meets the requirements of Islamic law. Kosher meat is
slaughtered in a way acceptable to most Muslims.

Muslims would not work in a plant that slaughtered pork. I do find this
development a tad on the humorous side, however.

But working in a meat packing plant is a nasty job, anyway you look at it,
and no surprise only illegal immigrants or other recent immigrants are
eager to do this work.

I had a uncle that spent his entire working life at Hormels, Austin Mn,
with no complaints, even got one of his son's to follow in his path (the
other son was an engineer with some airplane company in St. Louis:-).
Unfortunately management retired and the new guys were anti-union.

It should also be noted that a hair cut and beard trim in a small Iowa
town is still seven dollars; inflation moves more slowly there so the
Somalians should do all right.
