"A Briefer History of Time"

My son - being aware of my amateurish interest in "science" - brought
me a library book, written by Stephen Hawkings, the famous scientist,
who followed up his original book, with this supposedly easier version,
titled, as stated above.
Well, it is an incredible struggle for me, and I will have to give up
struggling, and skip much of the material, simply because it is too
scientific for my untrained mind - at least untrained in this area!!
BUT -I was impressed with what I considered a beautiful statement by the
famous author, which I would like to quote here:
"If we do discover a complete theory, it should in time be
understandable in broad principle by everyone, not just a few
scientists. Then we shall all, philosophers, scientists, and just
ordinary people, be able to take part in the discussion of the question
of why it is that we and the universe exist. If we find the answer to
that, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason - for then we
would know the mind of God"
