Big picture, May 2008:
The Democrats aren't the ones falling apart, the Republicans are. The
<snip>
This is and will be the great challenge for John McCain: The Democratic
argument, now being market tested by Obama Inc., that a McCain victory
will yield nothing more or less than George Bush's third term.
That is going to be powerful, and it is going to get out the vote. And
not for Republicans.
Jim, the other thing that will get out the vote is Obama's remarkable
organization -- already his supporters are busy registering likely
Democratic voters in all states.
That remarkable organization reminds me of a bunch of grammar school
kids who are all selling each other magazine subscriptions -- on
credit. And swapping girl scout cookies. Wait til they try to draw
their commissions in a cruel world come September and October.
The Republicans have nothing at all
to match this. Contrary to what some denizens of this group believe,
Obama's supporters will get out and work for him.
I don't see any McCain supporters here willing to sacrifice some shoe
leather or knock on doors. But perhaps they know the welcome mat may
not be out for them.
McCain ain't nothing - - if you'll pardon the grammar. But he's
nothing plus one -- and Borock is nothing minus one.
Keep thinking that way -- and then when the Trojan horse rolls in,
wham, bang. Our pour newly registered Democratic voters.
I've always been told not to ever underestimate the enemy. And I try
never to be guilty of that. However, this primary has gotten so
darn funny -- maybe I am being careless. But I don't think so.
I've been doing something for the past week that I seldom do. I've
actually been reading the posts at democraticunderground.com. I've
probably read 200 today. I've been hoping it to see if I can
actually understand how the minds of idiots work. And I may be
nearing success.
All I can say is that either the majority of Obama's supporters -- or
I -- am totally crazy. I do know that we do not experience the same
reality. They breath political correctness in ways I haven't heard
since the 1970s. You'd think a little intelligence would have seeped
in by now -- if only by osmosis.
I'd give anything if the Republicans had a candidate that was at least
one rung above whale manure. I'd be having the time of my life.
As it is -- I still get a good laugh everyday.
I have to say that knowing that no matter who wins, Middle America.
But it took the combined idiocy of Boobus Americanus to create these
two empty vessels -- and left us ordinary Americans with no choice.
