snip list of software

I should, perhaps, mention that I don't use anti-virus software. I
haven't had a virus for as long as I can remember--maybe since XP
Service Pack 2 or before.

What is your rationale for not using anti-virus software? It is
effortless to use, automatic updates, etc. I did have one virus
detected, albeit not a very noxious one. I run XP, like it, have
had no problems with it and plan to keep it as long as feasible.
I do use anti-spyware programs and of course a firewall.

I'm with you Rita. Comcast offers McAfee free with their service.
Download and install it and from then on it updates automatically. I
also have a router that is in effect a firewall.
