I repeat...what some folks perceive as a conflict between Clinton and
Obama is a great thing...They are BOTH getting more first time voters
and getting voters to come back and vote....Guess what?....with all
those registered voters, whoever is going to be the candidate, they
will have a *** load of voters....compared to McCain's Republicans ,
who do Not even plan to vote.

That'll be fine as long as all their supporters can come together
at the end, when one and only one of the two gets the nomination.

It will be up to whoever gets the nomination to work for that to
happen. It is important the nomination be decided early in June
so that person will have ample time to accomplish that. If the
decision is left until the August convention -- the chances of
reconciliation are far, far less.

I've been trying to keep up with the quakes and spasms of the true
believers at democraticundergound.com. They are really getting
vicious with each other. Obama's followers are already calling
Hillary a bitch. I figure the "C" word can't be far behind.
And when that happens --- watch out for the "n" word to start flying.
These radicals are very egalitarian until it's THEIR bull getting
gored.

I have taken a couple of cruises on the Democratic Underground
website and decided I wanted no part of it. It seems to attract
not any thoughtful discussion but various characters vying to
be outrageous.

The only reason I stay with them enough to post 10 thoughts a month is
because you get such a wide distribution of your idea. It won't
change any minds, but it's nice to be read anyway. Especially in
the middle of an election year.

I mentioned once before that it's nothing like the give and take on
soc.retirement -- which I enoy. But then, I feel a certain amount
of affection for the posters here.

But given your penchant for making outrageous statements, perhaps
you can appreciate this kind of discourse more than I do, Gary:)

Actually I don't care for it -- nor do I want to get involved in it.
One reason I mind my manners is because they will kick me out in a
heartbeat if I ever break their code. Whatever that is. The reason
I'm not outrageous there is because the regulars are crazy. I mean
"active" crazy as compared to a few of our more "passive" crazies at
SR.

Same goes for many conservative blogs -- many are nothing more
than rumor mills. You might give some of them a try. I'm sure
some of your comments would be well received in those venues.

I joined usenet before I ever heard of blogs or political forums. I
suppose it spoiled me -- because I don't care for the others.
Dropping an occasional grenade in their midst -- for entertainment --
is not beyond me. But I honestly do not want to be "one of their
crowd".

But then -- if I ever got use to them.... I might :-)
