Former U.S. vice-president Al Gore will launch a $300 million US
initiative on Wednesday aimed at mobilizing Americans to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions, the Washington Post reported

The new campaign comes at a time when the U.S.'s three remaining
presidential candidates, Hillary Clinton, John McCain and Barack Obama,
have all endorsed federal limits on greenhouse gas emissions. That, the
Post said, will virtually ensure that the next president, to be elected
in November, will break from President George W. Bush's climate policy.

There's a NOVA program, that will be airing here in San Francisco
at 8:00 PM tomorrow on KQED, entitled "Dimming Sun":

Dimming Sun
As global warming turns up the heat, researchers are stunned to
discover that our planet is actually growing dimmer. Increasing air
pollution allows less and less sunlight to reach earth's surface, a
"global dimming" that's linked to severe droughts. In an even more
alarming twist, there is concern that solving the dimming problem
could greatly accelerate global warming, melting ice caps and flooding
coastal cities. Nova examines this baffling climate conundrum and
follows the implications of the discovery for our planet's future.
