What about Hillary Clinton? She was actually a victim of the

I couldn't say as precisely. She gets a lot of anger-by-association, I
suppose, but unlike Bill, she's seen as an ideological leftist by many.

Andy comments:

When one considers the creed at West Point, which goes
something like : " I will not lie, cheat, or steal... or tolerate
those who do "

... one has to include Mrs Clinton in that transgression. She
tolerated his philandering and embarassment purely for
political self interest..... In the minds of many, anyone who
puts up with that stuff is of the same character as the one
who performs it. If she would have kicked his sorry ass
out, I would probably be a big supporter......

The last sentence I particularly agree with. Had she divorced him after the
Monica incident, I think she's have a good deal of popularity on the right,
at least to the extent that they would see her senatorial record for what it
is (moderate left with some right-of-center leanings) instead of labeling
her somewhat unfairly as a hard-left socialist. Women's groups also took a
hit amongst the right as part of her fallout, as they are now viewed as
hypocritical by continuing to support her.
