Re: prevent alzheimer's

Jeff - the pre-clinical study you mentioned, I would guess, is done with
animals; thus pe-clinical - or else, it may also be too small a
study, which needs to be substantiated by many others to follow, on a
large scale. But that is usually the course of new discoveries or of
substantiating claims for current discoveries,etc.etc. That is why
caution is always advised against using new products without having them
sanctioned by official agencies, nationally.(as, for instance, the CDC)
and that is also why "natural" products ought to be handled with the
greatest of skepticism and caution, since those products are not
supervised.
There is a groundswell of resentment - among some of the public -
against some of the large drug companies - which, in my view, bases its
doubts merely on the fact that they (the large drug companies) are
indeed large, and very profitable. These people ignore the fact that
part of those profits work toward all our own benefits in that those
companies can afford to conduct vast research, and thus discover, as
well as check on current medications and bring about newer ones, to
benefit all of us. The very profits so resented by so many, are what
brings us the lalest and best in modern medicine.
