I always look for at least 13 proofs before I become a true-believer

Spoilsport! Picky, picky, picky. The good man took a lot of trouble
to give you 12, but noooooo, you just want to be difficult. Shame
on you.

Now I feel just awful, just awful mind you. In the interest of
fairness maybe I'll go back and careful examine all twelve of the
arguments to see if one can be divided into two parts. In fact I
promise myself right now that I will do that just as soon as I clean
my house sparking clean. If someone up there were to help me along
with that chore, that would certainly help. As a matter of fact, I
would consider that to be proof number 13.

Speaking of help, you don't happen to live anywhere near the middle of
Utah do you Rita?

Sorry, I don't and even if I did I would be of no help with
cleaning your house. I was surveying my studio apartment
with small kitchen and bathroom today and decided the job for
the day would be to pick things up and put them away. And
take out the trash. I thought of cleaning the floors but
that may or may not get done today. I have white
ceramic tile floors in kitchen and bath and have devised an
easy method to clean them. I use a SWIFTER gizmo but instead
of buying the rather expensive cleaning pads I cut up an old
towel to fit and just attach it and dip it in a Mr. Clean
solution. Works like a charm. My other cleaning aid is a
spray bottle of Fantastic and a roll of paper towels. Some
people avoid using what they call "harsh chemicals" for cleaning
but I like them because they work:)

As someone who has never done any serious cleaning before, I can tell
you that "harsh chemicals" are bad on plated plumbing fixtures, like
faucets for instance. I doubt if they hurt things like walls, counter
tops, bathtubs, toilets and sinks, though.

Funny you should mention Swiffers (or did you?). I just, right now,
happen to be looking at a Cosco ad for those. I don't know how they
work, but Cosco has a $2.50-off coupon on them starting January 7th.

They are handy gizmos for tile floors, I don't know how they work
on other surfaces. You buy the long handle and attach the Swifter
pad that is treated with something that wipes up dirt very slickly.
Better than a mop since there is no wringing it out involved.

Depending on how often you need to do your floors the pads can
add up to some expense. With white tile floors and my habit of
spilling things in the kitchen and a bathroom with a skylight
that is great for ventilation but which allows some dirt to drift
in I have to do the floors fairly often. $2.50 off would be a good
deal for a trial run. You have to buy the handle they attach to also.

Thanks Rita. I'll look at them on the 7th when I go to Cosco. I was
actually looking for something to dust with. I have a Lab retriever
(named Sadie) and a large layer of dust all over the place. I'm
actually wondering if maybe I ought to buy one of those cannister-type
vacuums with a big long hose to do dusting with.

Unquestionably you should buy one. I have one I'll recommend -- a
Shark Roadster. A son gave it to me as a gift and I'm not sure what
they cost but not enough to wipe out your savings account. Very tidy
and small. Rolls around on floors well, I don't know about carpets as
I have none. Comes with all attachments. And you don't have to
replace the filter as you do with some electric vacuums. Just clean
it.

Aha, I found one -- $99.99 at Target.

Thanks Rita. I'm going to buy one of these then. My heavy-duty dusting
problems definitely go beyond using some sort of a dainty rag.
