social security COLA increase 2.3% for 2008

Supposedly based on year-to-year 3rd quarter CPI increase.
I feel inflation is larger than this.
Medicare premiums are increasing 3%.

The social security starting payout and tax cap
are increasing 4.5%. These two numbers are
based on the increase in national wages,
while COLA adjustments are based on inflation.
