Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) no longer thinks that his way is the only way said he is now willing to compromise with Republicans.
Reid's unwavering stance earlier earned him critics who said he was playing politics by refusing to bargain. The "cut and run" debate screeched to a halt after the most poisonous confrontation since Democrats took control of Congress. Reid convened an all-night session that infuriated Republicans, who blocked a Democratic withdrawal measure. Only four Republican senators broke ranks on the vote, and several chastised Reid, saying he wasted the Senate's time on a publicity stunt.
But the reed bends - Harry says that now is the time to work with the GOP. YES! The 'surge' is working so Reid must bend. :-)

The "Surge" is working.
