To Reagan's credit, he listened to Weinberger and Congress and pulled
our troops out of Lebanon. I suppose that some of you on the right,
if you were ever consistent about anything, would accuse Reagan of a
policy of "cut and run!"
Goggle it and see. I've accused him of that since the day he did it!!!
And that's one of the reasons terrorists think we are a paper tiger and
target us for more of the same.

Well, at least you are consistent. Wrong, but consistently wrong, IMV.
Being wrong in the opinion of a few folks has never bothered me. In my
heart, and through my experience, I know I'm right. Bullies always attack
cowards, not the other way around. And when you are seen as a coward,
you're gonna get tested and tested often. And in the real word where the
big boys play, that means a lot of people are going to get killed. That
you have not tasted that is the only reason for your opinion.

Great galloping gobs of green testosterone! Now I understand why you do
not believe in evolution! The human species survives because we are the
biggest and baddest, not because we have the ability to reason. I'm glad
that you cleared that up for me!

You need to grow up.

At least I have advanced beyond the schoolyard. You, on the other hand,
seem to be laboring under a pretty severe case of insecurity. But, do
not be discouraged. Even at your age, you might be able to learn
something if you do a little reading outside soc.retirement.

I suggest that you start with Bacevich. I think that you might
appreciate reading something by someone who knows first hand about war.
Bacevich is a graduate of West Point and served in Vietnam. He also
served in the Persian Gulf during Gulf War I and retired as a Colonel.
His son fought in Iraq and was unfortunately killed last May. Like you,
he is also a Catholic and a conservative.

So, instead of "knowing something in your heart" you might learn
something from someone who has some expertise and who has earned the
right to be heard.

I recommend that you start with:

The New American Militarism: How Americans are Seduced by War

My retired Special Forces colonel brother was and is also against the
Iraq war, not for strategic reasons, but because of people in this
country like you who want to lose the war for political reasons. He
figured it was over before it began, thanks to all you and your rear
view attitudes.
