Re: How to Deal with the Taliban

Since the Taliban have apparently started executing the South Korean hostages they have under their control, if I were the head of the South Korean government, I would demand that the Afghan government publicly and without further delay execute five of the Taliban prisoners it holds for each South Korean hostage the Taliban executes until they cease that deplorable practise against innocent civilians.

I've read the other replies to this thread, and unfortunately, the only thing that we need to know and understand is the first rule of warfare: "Know your enemy."

Our enemy is not a traditional enemy that has political goals which can be negotiated. It's all or nothing with them. Their goals are primarily religious, and not political, making negotiation and the compromise which usually results, impossible. With the Taliban, it's their way, or no way, as with the rest of al Quaida.

Sadly, I concur with George. The only solution is total eradication, and the sooner the better. These are uncivilized maniac Muslims, and they will certainly kill the hostages anyway, as they do not care whether they themselves are killed. Unfortunate, but true.
