Exactly. IQ tests leave out a lot. Different cultural values, inborn
talents, emotional maturity, none of these are covered for example, or
factored in, in a good way.

All short term tests have a problem. For instance, SAT scores do not
accurately
predict college performance but SAT + GPA combined scores to better.
The latter
score is accumulated over a long period of time and many many tests.
In the real world of work we are not normally subjected to one or two
hour tests.
The testing comes in other forms, we are judged on over all
performance.
I am a real estate investor, I take my time judging a particular
project,
I accumulate information and finally I make a decision. I almost never
make a snap decision. Being a little slow also brings down the
prices.
We had to look like an interested but reluctant buyer.
I distrust my judgement enough to try and be careful.
The tough part is deciding one made an error, the decision to "get
out"
is actually a tougher one than to get in. I view myself as being
successful
not because I am extra smart but extra careful. Still that comes
from experience. If high IQ is related to experience, than those with
a lack of it are at a disadvange. Then the test results are not a
measure
of pure intelligence but how one uses experience.
If IQ is not related to experience, then the hell with it.
Yes, exactly! They say that good judgement comes as a direct result of having experienced the results of bad judgement. IQ is only one tiny element. I have a friend who has an IQ of 186. Her life story has not been one of great success and brilliant choices, but as she has grown more mature, her life has finally come together and her true brilliance has had a chance to shine through a bit. But having been born with a high IQ was no guarantee of anything, regarding the things we all value, as the fruits of a good life.
