MOST Iraqis believe life is better for them now than it was
under Saddam Hussein, according to a British opinion poll
published today.
The survey of more than 5,000 Iraqis found the majority

the American-led invasion four years ago this week.
information.
Iraq has some 25 million people*. Therefore if the poll was taken
in Iraq, then of that number some 5,000 were asked a subjective
question by a person or persons unknown.
If the poll was not taken in Iraq, there is no explanation of why a
"British opinion poll" is important in this context.
The language in which the question was asked is one that very few
Americans speak or read, therefore we cannot verify the wording or,
equally important, know what the question(s) means *within Iraqui
culture*.
We can only conclude that reporting this specific poll is an
attempt to mold the opinions of Americans with internet access;
witness the number of times this empty generality has been posted to
this and other newsgroups.

One in four Iraqis has had a family member murdered, says theAnd yet they hear Louis Armstrong singing "It's A Wonderful

World." In English.
If Iraq has 25 million people, then the statement that one in four
Iraqis has had a family member murdered would mean something
like millions of Iraqis have been murdered. The casualties among
Iraqis are dreadfully high, but not that high.
Something IS fishy about this poll. Not sure what it is but I'd like
to know more about Opinion Research Business.
