In the real world, we call that 'cowardice.'
Have to disagree, Alan. My killfile is full of people I've plonked. I plonk them because their postings have become strident, repetitive, predictable and/or boring (or any combination thereof) and they therefore take up (or occupy) too much bandwidth on MY machine (which is something I have the right to control via rights of ownership) as well as too much of MY time that it takes for me to read, recognize and scroll through material I have no interest in.
It has absolutely nothing to do with cowardice. The successful cowardice-free warrior is the one who judiciously chooses his battles, not the one who engages in all of them willy-nilly simply because they're available.
Food for thought along with the rest of your Sunday dinner. Enjoy it.
Of course, you're entitled to your opinion, George, however in Jeff's case, I do believe the charge is well placed. He has a history of using the plonk exactly in the manner in which I described it. Your qualifications would apply more to ninnies like Sordo, Pig and Stevens, yet I find it strange that you haven't plonked them, as I do see that you occasionally do reply to them.
Given your posting history, I would tend to accept your explanation, even considering the apparent inconsistencies as ;er the above, however in Jeff's case, I do believe that he quite well fits the interpretation I made. His admission that he plonked Rumple is further evidence of that. Rumple authored a number of posts on a variety of topics, yet Jeff plonked him over ONE issue, likely when Rumple had him backed into some corner, which is typical behavior for Jeff. So as far as Jeff is concerned, I do believe that it is cowardice which motivates him. applying your standards to him is not necessarily making a valid comparison, since you always finish what you start, or participate in. Jeff has demonstrated, a number of times, the tactic of taking his ball and running home when he gets beat up. Plonking his adversaries is only an extension of that. And that's cowardice.
Some food for thought for your Sunday dinner.
