Those of us who have good news servers and news readers would
not care to use Google. If you haven't experienced the difference,
then I'm sure you don't understand why.

Well, I can't disagree with you since I've never used a "store
bought"
news reader.... They probly have several features I'd enjoy, but I
haven't
seen anything with "google groups" that bothered me enough to make
a change...... I guess I just have a higher tolerance for minor
annoyances..... The "killfile" feature would be nice, but I just
don't
"open" the responses from those I don't regard as post-worthy --
--- sort of like Email.....

Anyway, I'm happy with my 9.95 Juno Platinum and using Google groups,
and , should I ever have even less in my life going on, I might fill
up
more time by paying for a more expensive newsreader ( grin )...
But, they would have to guarantee to get rid of all of the
malcontents
and trolls first <GGG>...... I'd buy that for a dollar

If you ever get away from Google groups you will NEVER go back.

Mozilla has a new FREE suite out. - SeaMonkey Web-browser, advanced
e-mail and newsgroup client, IRC chat client, and HTML editing made
simple -- all your Internet needs in one application.

Hard to go wrong with Mozilla. They also produce Firefox and
Thunderbird --

That's what I use to think. I've used Firefox for three years now,
but in the past week it's about to run me nuts. The browser screen
alays opens in a demionished (smaller) mode. About 800px. I enlage
it, but the next time I open it, it is back to small. I have
uninstalled it three times this week. When re-inatalled, it does fine
for a day, then it goes back to displaying a small screen.. I've
searched all though preferences but can't find any solution.

I think I'll have to start using IE.

Before you give up on Firefox uninstall it one more time.

Then go to Search and type in Firefox.

You will come up a list where Firefox elements are found in various
folders in Documents and Settings.

Delete them all. You can do that on the Search screen.

Then try re-installing a fresh copy from the web.

I had a problem with Firefox and did that and problem was solved.

Your preferences, etc., are stored in these folders and apparently
are not overwritten when you just uninstall and then reinstall.
