What war ???? He was referring what all folks used to call WW-II. The
Axis
powers; mainly Germany, Italy, Japan (Axis; that's what they were called
in
that war). If the Nazis had obtained control of the Soviet Union with
its
vast numbers of military and natural resources, it is likely you'd now
have
a swastika sticker on the back of your pink VOLVO instead of an ACLU
sticker.

You're one of the least likely people I ever thought I'd have to explain
that to.

We lived through the subject period and can vouch for the facts first
hand.

In your last sentence it seems you equate the war between Islam and
Modern
Civilization to Jaywalking. Quaint to say the least.

I use to think I stood for many things, including war and other mass
murder, that seem less important to me now. After watching Bush (of
the Silver Spoon) and his Congressional stoogies for 5 years, I've
come to the conclusion that it's the ordinary citizen that is most
important. What Jefferson called the "yeoman". What King George
called the "peasant" :-)

Anyway, after all of these years of watching the preening of our
leaders, I've decided that war is of no use to the yeoman. He
profits in no way. Actually it "causeth his gas bill to riseth", as
it may say in the Good Book.

I've also noticed that in order to get the Yeoman's vote, the
Republicans will "stand for " anything they think we in Red Nation
will "fall for".

Why should we be fighting people who live 7,000 miles away and ignore
an invasion from the South ? When the &#^% in Washington declare
war on Mexico, call me. Where Caesar said "Veni, Vidi Vici", Bush
says "Veni Vidi Vi***".



The Republicans wasted an excellent opportunity to govern well and have
come to be as corrupt as the sanctimonious Democrats so don't lay the
whole thing on "Evil Republicans out to murder and starve old folks, roast
babies, etc., etc." while seemingly trivializing Democratic corruption.
The Politics of Corruption points in both directions. Both have left
their respective roots Gary and headed off to LaLa Land at warp speed.
Street level people are view as a crop to be regularly plucked.

When this country was founded we had serious talent in every direction and
now we have idiots in all directions-Bush, Teddy Kennedy, and on and on.
All seem to be busy grabbing theirs and ignoring what benefits the nation.
