It would seem to me, a company like Ford, which has to worry about what
their competitors are doing, have to figure out ways to be competitive or
die. One part of that is how to be price competitive with those companies
who would just live to be able to sell their cars at a lower price than a
company like Ford.

Not to worry, Jerry. When Ford goes belly up, the Dems can come up
with a government program to keep Ford's ex-employees on Easy Street.

Or the government will "bail them out"?

According to my conservative friends, that will be good. It's only
when the government wastes it's money on feeding it's poor and
elderly citizens that it becomes oppressive and socialistic.
Corporate welfare is just fine.

For instance, I see the Senate is about to give the Gulf of Mexico to
Lee Raymond and the other pirates at Big Oil.

Cancelling the leases on the 181 Area was second only to burying the
records of Iran-Contra for this Administration, IMHO. Perhaps they are
thinking of changing their energy policy to include our Gulf oil.
