I really haven't this year. I'm in the odd position of hoping they
all lose, so I don't even know who is running.

I do find it funny that none of the candidates in Georgia mention
which party they are with. We have a primary next week and they are
too modest on that score to hint at which primary (GOP of Democrat) we
should vote in.

I did see tonight where a couple of the Democrats are admitting their
affilliation. but I have yet to see a Republican do so. Can't blame
them. What the Republicans do is paint all of their signs and ads
blue, in hopes we will remember Reagan used that color.

We have one GOP guy (a neighbor knows him) who invites us to stop by
his fast food joint and say hello. The trouble is that in his
literature, he informs us that he recently purchased 11 new fast food
joints. I figure that if each one only costs $500,000 he spent $5.5
million. So now I suppose he wants to go to the state legislature so
he can find an easy way to get that money back.

Well, ours is gonna be fun this year. The incumbent governor is nicknamed
Gov Good Hair because his hair is always perfectly coiffed.

The Dem opposing him will be Chris Bell of whom I know nothing. Wikipedia
says his task is difficult because Texas is almost solidly Republican. It
has also been gerrymandered by Tom deLay.

But the fun candidates are Grandma Strayhorn, running as an independent. She
is not allowed to use "Grandma" on the ballot. Her son is Scott McClellan,
Bush's erstwhile Press Secretary.

And, more fun, Kinky Freedman, running as an independent. He is allowed to
use "Kinky" on the ballot. He's good with the zingers, maybe has Saturday
Nite Live beat, and at the core, really pretty sensible.

Last and least, the Libertarian candidate James Werner who is not expected
to pull many votes.

For once, I almost can't wait to vote.
