Ah, I think you are giving yourself too much credit. As I understand
it, Earl got so involved in posting that his wife monitored the
exchanges and believed it was not good for him (or for her) to
engage in constant controversy. She may have made an exception
for the death penalty newsgroup.

My own view is that is that even married folk are entitled to some
privacy in their communications and pastimes so long as they are not
of a romantic nature or they don't dis their spouses online:)

I would agree with her. For myself, there're too many things that need
to get done arround here. And I could probably get a lot more done if
I didn't like posting so much.

Well, Alvin, if it were not the Internet, what would be your excuse:)

I probably read too much science fiction and mysteries. But lately
it's a new grand child. Someone new to spoil. Son and wife are
concerned about germs from the dust in my house. So I've been in the
process of cleaning, baby-proofing a room and plan to air-condition
it. New parents are so fussy. Well, I can see my daughter-in-law's
mother dusting everything when I'm there. So I can see where she gets
that from.

I go over most of the time, but it's been on-going for over a month.
When cleaning I tend to get distracted with what I find. I seem to be
shifting more things all over the house instead of throwing them away.
Anyway, I'm brushing up on Japanese. I'ave promised to speak Japanese
to the baby so it'll pick up the language. It's hapa or a mixture of
three races (that's what happens about the fifth generation in
Hawaii), but at least it might know more than one language.

"It", Alvin? LOL. Is the new grandchild a boy or a girl?

Girl. Piper Narami Toda. 6 lbs 11 oz. Unfortunately, still up most of
the nite.

I don't have much around to gather dust -- ceramic tile floors and
I use a Swifter dust cloth and Swifter mop to clean up. One big
advantage of moving cross country is that you tend to discard all
the junk and it takes a while to build up another stash. I do need
another bookcase, however, My apartment has a floor to ceiling
bookcase built in but I have managed to fill it already as I pick up
used books right along. So some are piled on the floor.

Good luck on the Japanese. I think Hawaiians are among the most
attractive people around -- the racial mixtures produce great looking
people.

Yes. Books are a problem. It's hard to give them up. But in these
later years, I tend to read at the library or book stores. When you're
retired you can do that. Spend a lot on snacks at the coffee section
of the store. Good way to spend a warm summer mid-afternoon, if not
napping. Then I'm up til midnite. Sometimes I think that I might do
well in a country with siestas.
