My understanding is that the North Korean leader really doesn't care
about his people and has permitted starvation on a grand scale. So,
there are no humanitarian grounds on which to appeal to him. He wants
recognition and status.
One weapons expert I heard on TV said his missiles are outdated...about
WWII vintage. Whether that means we don't need to worry or not is not
clear.
