No. There is plenty of evidence to show that Bush Jr received favorable treatment to keep him out of Viet Nam. The BBC reported that news, but this article does not state that it published the letters that Rather used in his report. Had Rather just published the same things that the BBC published he might have been OK. He honestly thought that he had additional compelling information and the Republican machine used it to destroy him.
