Unleash Rove ! Let Rove be Rove ! Let *that" be the battle cry of
this election. Then about late October, if Scooter starts babbling,
we'll see Herr Karl frog-walked out of the White House in
handcuffs. And the GOP will be a better place without him.
I already heard they're thinking of using "Gay Marriage" again
to get votes from the Southern idiots. It worked last time, why
not do it again? Just give the suckers something to scream
about and they won't notice we're lying through our teeth to
them and stealing their underwear again.
Getting rid of Bush's buddies in Congress is going to be hard enough
as it is. So as a Southern voter, I would encourage you to use your
influence on the West Coast to get the guys to hold off on any
nuptials until after November. Unless, of course, they are in
the family way .... ;-)
Bullshit. What do you think we are, a bunch of suckers
who should walk on our eyelashes to take care of the
rights and benefits of people who don't give a damn
about our rights and benefits?
That's not the proper attitude. We need not worry about who respects
who. Just remember the old saying "the enemy of my enemy is my
friend". I'm the enemy of your enemy. That makes us friends.
That philosophy has caused more endearing friendships than all the
love and respect in the world.
It's not the proper attitude for me to have for your benefit,
agreed. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" is a formula
for alliances without loyalty, which I and everyone else engages
in when necessary. If they're honest, it's understood there's no
loyalty but just convenience. When people are really on my
side, only then do I feel loyalty.
If that's how your
contingent thinks,
Most of my contingent doesn't think ! Why do you suppose Bush is in
office ? Why do you suppose I'm begging for your help ?
Why should I help? What are you offering me? Certainly
not love, or you'd be supporting gay rights. If not love, then
what? My own interest? I'll take care of my own interest my
way, not your way. Even if you beg, I'm not interested in
supporting you with no advantage to myself when you won't
support me with no advantage to yourself.
you can fend for yourselves and don't
expect any help from us. We'd be no better off with you
than with them in charge.
It's not nice to be suspicious of your new friend.
I haven't accepted your attitude as that of "friend".
Not you personally of course - I like you, But your political
position. Since it's not "friendly" to me, it's of interest to
me only insofar as I, not anyone else, judge it to be
"useful" to me.
And don't bother with promises,
we know how that works. "Tomorrow never comes", as
Creedence Clearwater sang. If you don't stand with us
today, I certainly don't believe you'd stand with us tomorrow.
I prefer what Ben Franklin is rumored to have said on a similar
subject when he was discussing the regime change of another George :
"If we don't all hang together, we will all hang separately".
The way to hang together is not to discard the motivating
interests of a group in response to a strategy of "divide and
conquer" from the opposition. You can't dump the interests
of a group and expect continued support from that group:
that would be illogical.
